Board to meet on Asiad team

MANILA, Philippines — The PBA Board of Governors holds an emergency meeting on Thursday to find ways on how to help Gilas Pilipinas form a competitive team for the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia in August.

The problem is how the pro league would accommodate participation of PBA players in the Asiad when the PBA has already blocked play dates in June-July and in September to give way to Gilas games in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

And as it is, the current PBA season is to end late this year, thus, pushing to January the opening of the next PBA season.
