WATCH: Behind the formation of Philippines’ FIBA 3x3 squad
MANILA, Philippines – Kiefer Ravena. Terrence Romeo. Calvin Abueva. These are just few of the names floated by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas as they were bracing for the 3x3 World Cup.
None of those names made the cut when the SBP revealed the players who will represent the Philippine tricolor in the global skirmish slated here on June.
SBP President Al Panlilio and designated head coach Ronnie Magsanoc, shortly after the announcement, shared how they came up with the roster.

The FIBA 3x3 World Cup — which will serve as the country' stepping stone in chasing and securing an Olympic dream — will come off wraps on June 8 through 12 at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The Filipinos are grouped with Russia, Brazil, Mongolia and Canada under Pool C.
The Russians ranked first overall in the Federation rankings. They are followed by the Mongolians, who are currently the fifth in the ladder. The Canadians sit a spot ahead of the Filipinos at 47th.
