MANILA, Philippines — JE Tomamao captured the overall championship in the HERO Foundation’s Golf Cup 2018: Golf for a Cause at Southlinks Golf Club in Las Piñas City recently.

The 18-hole tournament served as one of HERO’s fund-raising projects that will benefit the foundation’s scholars who are children of soldiers who were killed in action or incapacitated during their tour of duty.

The event tickets, which were inclusive of green fee, caddie, lunch, and raffle, had a portion of its price as direct donation of the players to the foundation.

“We didn’t just play golf. We helped the children of our fallen heroes,” said Brig. Gen. Alvin Javier.

Danica Joy Talania and Arnel Aspe, HERO scholars, expressed their heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors and participants through a short message and an acoustic number during the event.

Other backers of the event were Southlinks Golf Club, Ayala Land Premier, Alveo Land Corp., Amaia Land Corp., Avida Land Corp., Cebu Holdings, Centrio Mall, AC Automotive, Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corp., McDonald’s, UCPB, Healthy Family Purified Water, BDO, and Primer Group of Companies.
