WATCH: Magnolia's Paul Lee on finals berth, challenging San Miguel
MANILA, Philippines — Paul Lee has been a veteran of many battles. He has emerged victorious from a lot of it. At the same time, he has learned tons off of it, too.
And there couldn’t be more of a visual proof of it when Philstar.com interviewed him shortly after Magnolia clinched the other 2018 PBA Philippine Cup Finals spot at the expense of NLEX on Tuesday.

Lee, who finished with nine points, seven boards and two assists that night added: “Sobrang saya kasi nga, ‘di madali eh. Bagong team, bagong teammates. Bago ‘yung coach din. So 'di naging madali para sakin. Finally, 'yon, nakalagpas din kami sa semis.”
The two-time PBA champion also noted that if it there’s any consolation from taking the four-peat seeking San Miguel Beer, it's that it affords him and his team an underdog mentality — one that he has subscribed to over and over again with his bid for titles with Rain or Shine.
“‘Di namin alam kung anong gagawin namin doon, so siguro, maghahanda na lang talaga kami. Prepare lang kung ano mang mangyari sa series,” he said.
The Hotshots and the Beermen kick off the Finals hostilities this Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. They go at it again on Sunday before taking a break this Holy Week.
