Mighty Altas face winless JRU spikers

MANILA, Philippines — Perpetual Help seeks to jump out of a two-way tie at the helm with Arellano University as it takes on winless Jose Rizal today in the men’s division of the 93rd NCAA volleyball tournament at the Filoil Arena in San Juan.

The Altas are currently on top alongside the Chiefs after racking up four straight victories including an emphatic 25-14, 25-19, 25-11 win over the Emilio Aguinaldo Generals Thursday and another triumph in their duel will push it alone at No. 1.

Rey Taneo has been leading the way for the Las Piñas-based spikers as he averaged 12.5 points a game and he is expected to come up with another strong effort when they face the Bombers, who have yet to win a match in their first four outings.
