Los Baños tennis club elects 2018 board

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna , Philippines — The College Country Club (CCC), this university town’s foremost tennis organization, has elected its officers for 2018.

Dimas Rico “Ding” Navasero, a sportsman-movie actor-businessman, was reelected president.

Four professors at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), on whose campus the 54-year-old sports organization is situated, made it to the CCC board.

They are Dean Arnold Elepaño of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, vice president; Dr. Kevin Yaptenco, treasurer;  Dr. Rory de los Reyes, secretary; Dr Cesar Quicoy, liaison officer; and Ben Arizala, sports director.

The CCC was established in 1964 to promote sports activities on the campus. It has facilities for lawn tennis, table tennis, chess, billiards, and basketball.

The club has at present about 50 members, mostly officials and staff members of 23 government and private Los Baños-based international, Asian, and national institutions and agencies that constitute the Los Baños Science Community (LBSC).
