No plan for Devance to leave Ginebra despite free agent status

MANILA, Philippines – Before Christmas, Barangay Ginebra gifted Joe Devance with a two-year contract-extension deal worth P10.08 million.

But then Devance was to be put on the unrestricted free agent list as he’s recovering from a foot surgery. With Devance being a free agent (with the rights to a maximum pay), any team can approach him and make an offer.

“The decision, however, is on us. Eh ba’t naman aalis si Devance sa Ginebra? Lahat nga gustong mapunta sa Ginebra,” said player agent Danny Espiritu, allaying fears the 6-foot-8 forward can be stolen away from Ginebra.
