WATCH: Cañaleta showcases veteran smarts in triumphant Meralco debut

MANILA, Philippines — KG Cañaleta has been in the league for so long he didn't need an adjustment period to make his presence felt for his new team.

In Meralco's first game of the PBA 43rd season, the 12-year veteran propelled the Meralco Bolts past Blackwater Elite, 103-98.

"Sa hinaba ko rin sa liga, nnaisip ko na hindi mo kailangang manggigil," he said of his calm demeanor after sinking a dagger triple late in the game. "Mas magkakamali ka. Hindi mo magagawa 'yung gusto mo kapag gigil ka."
