MANILA, Philippines — Centro Escolar University and Bulacan State University take on separate rivals today, seeking to force a four-way tie for the lead in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) at the Olivarez College gym in Sucat, Parañaque.

Coming off a 60-43 romp over last year’s runner-up Olivarez College, the CEU Scorpions are favored to stamp their class over the newcomer Lyceum-Batangas Pirates in their 12 noon encounter.

Bulacan State U, however, faces an uphill battle against Technological Institute of the Philippines Engineers at 2 p.m.

Victories by CEU and BSU will net them a share of the lead with Diliman College and Colegio de San Lorenzo at 2-0.

The Engineers are out to redeem themselves from a stinging 65-67 loss to the Diliman Blue Dragons.
