MANILA, Philippines — The Ateneo community has never been afraid to voice out its stance on national issues, including their sports teams.

On Wednesday's UAAP Season 80 match, they did it again.

During the Blue Eagles’ halftime performance against the UP Maroons, the Blue Babble Battalion went out wearing their black shirts while holding placards.

One cheerleader brought out his sign with "P1,000" written on it, a reference to the Congress’ recent vote to reduce the Commission on Human Rights' budget to one grand.

Next, six guys raised their placards to reveal the phrase "Stop the EJKS, uphold human rights."

Last year, both Ateneo and their archrivals De La Salle University called for their supporters to wear black instead of their usual blue and green colors to protest the extra-judicial killings under the Duterte administration.
