MANILA, Philippines — The Meralco Bolts' Rey Guevarra secured his third straight slam dunk title in the PBA's All-Star Weekend festivities at the Araneta Coliseum on Friday night.

Guevarra, a 6-foot-3 swingman for the MVP franchise, drew a total of 97 points (50 and 47, respectively) from the judges bannered by Alvin Patrimonio, Johnny Abarrientos and decorated dunk champion KG Canaleta.

The former Letran standout, whose career was riddled with knee injuries, narrowly beat a smaller Chris Newsome (6-foot-2), who wowed the crowd with his hang time.

Newsome, Guevarra's teammate in Meralco, also surprised the crowd with an attempt that saw him don a replica of Manny Pacquiao's trunks and gloves.

Guevarra, like the other sideshows' winners, pocketed a P30,000 prize money. His three-peat puts him at second behind Canaleta's league-best five dunk titles. Guevarra's first dunk crown came in 2014 where he was co-champions with Justin Melton.

Here are the Newsome's two final dunks that garnered 46 and 50 respectively:
