Side-by-side comparison: Serves of female Mavericks

Philstar.com

Tennis is a sport that can be unforgiving to the body especially if your hand-eye coordination is poor, not to mention the countless times a player has to run back and forth across the court. Tennis leagues have clocked in and recorded each pro player’s serves and on average, a tennis ball can go 50-100 mph.

That in itself is fast considering how small a tennis ball is. But some pro players have been known to hit more than 100 mph. Case in point: Aussie player Sam Groth hit 163.7 mph (263 kph)!

But the spotlight right now is on the Philippine Mavericks, and we’re proud to say that our very own Sabine Lisicki holds the world record of the fastest serve ever hit by a woman. Check out this graphic below to see just how fast can get served by these tennis femme fatales!
