Philracom races set in MetroTurf

MANILA, Philippines - The MetroTurf hosts another two major Philracom-sponsored races next week when the Juvenile Colts and Fillies Stakes Series are held Aug. 25 in Malvar, Batangas.

A whopping total prize of P1 million will be up for grabs in the event, which features the country’s leading young horses in the Juvenile Colts Stakes set over 1,200 meters.

The nominees include Matang Tubig of the Jade Bros Farm and Livestock Inc., Muchos Gracis of Atty. Narciso Morales, River Mist of the Stormbred Farm, and PCSO Maiden Race champion Young Turf of Cong. Jeci Lapus.

Meanwhile, the distaff side nominees include Donttouchthewine of Juan Molina, Kukurukuku Paloma of Atty. Narciso Morales, Marinx of Leonardo Javier, Mona’s Art of SC Stockfarm Inc., Move On of Jun Almeda, Priceless Joy of Jade Bros Farm & Livestock Inc., and Up And Away of Ruben Dimacuha.

The winner of each race will get P300,000 with the runner-up and third placer receiving P112,500 and P62,500, respectively. The breeder of the winning horse will get a P15,000 bonus.

Matang Tubig won the first leg of the Juvenile Colts series last July 27 while Marinx topped the first leg of the Juvenile Fillies last July 21.

“We invite racing fans to watch these twin-bill events that will showcase the best of the two-year-olds so far in the country today. We assure you that your visit and stay here at the MetroTurf will be a pleasant and lots of enjoyment throughout the day,” said MetroTurf senior vice president Rudy Prado.
