Joey Lim, 51

MANILA, Philippines - Basketball tournament organizer Jose Ma. Vicente “Joey” Gana Lim IV passed away last Sunday due to cardiac arrest.

The elder brother of former Philippine Sports Commission commissioner and former badminton star Amparo “Weena” Lim was 51.

His remains will be at the Mt. Carmel Church, New Manila on Friday and Saturday.

The eldest of five siblings, Joey is survived by parents Jose Lim III and Remedios Gana, brothers Eduardo Lim, Vicente Lim and Alejandro Lim and sister Weena.

Lim has been involved with the Philippine Basketball League from 1990s.

For the last five years, Lim has been at the helm of the Fr. Martin Cup, a pre-season tournament for varsity teams in the collegiate, women and high school levels.
