Cezar commissioner of UCAAs second season

Basketball stalwart Philip Cezar of Crispa Redmanizer fame was named commissioner of the Universities and Colleges Athletic Association (UCAA) for its secnd season, which begins Aug. 22 at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym.
UCAA president Tisha Abundo said Cezar is the perfect choice for the post, saying the league will need his wisdom and basketball expertise as it sets out to surpass the success of its debut last year.
"Cezar is well-respected in the basketball community. His records speak volumes of his ability to lead the UCAA into greater heights," said Abundo, former commissioner of the Philippine Sports Commission.
Cezar, MVP of the Philippine Basketball Association in 1980, was chosen one of the professional leagues Best 25 Players. He steered the San Juan Knights to several titles in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) and to this day, is still one of the games most revered scholars.
The Philippine School of Business Administration, headed by its president Benjamin Paulino, is this years host.
"PSBA is honored to be host of one of the fastest-growing collegiate leagues in the Philippines today," said Paulino. "We will leave no stone unturned in our aim of making our staging a memorable one for all of the participants."
