Catriona pinakilalang Australian sa Miss U Colombia, apelyido naging Garay

Nag-viral ang wrong spelling ng apelyido ni Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray nang umupo siya bilang isa sa judges ng Miss Universe Colombia 2020.

Imbes na “Gray,” naging “Garay” ang na-flash sa TV screen.

Maraming pageant enthusiasts ang nag-react sa pagkakamali ng naturang TV production sa pangalan ni Queen Cat.

Heto ang ilang reactions: “Who else noticed CATRIONA GARAY???”, “Ano ba yan, di pa masulat ng tama ang full name ni Catriona? I don’t want to think there is malicious intent…”, “Garay?”

Pero mas kinabahala ni Catriona ang pag-introduce sa kanya bilang “Australian represented Philippines.” Noon pa man, sinasabi ni Catriona na she is Filipino. Nataon lang na pinanganak at lumaki siya sa ibang bansa.

Kaya sa kanyang Instagram Story after the pageant, nilagay niya ang word na “Filipina.”

Anyway nasa cover naman si Catriona ng La Revista Actual’s Magazine for the months of November and December 2020. Sikat na magazine ito sa Colombia at nag-photoshoot sila sa National Museum of the Philippines.

Ang kinoronahan palang Miss Universe Colombia ay ang 25-year old journalist na si Laura Olascuaga.

Ellen, wagi sa People’s Choice Award kahit naging kontrobersyal

Sa gitna ng pinagdaanang kontrobersya ni Ellen DeGeneres sa kanyang show nitong mga nakaraang buwan, tumanggap pa rin siya ng People’s Choice Award noong nakaraang Sunday. Nanalo ang show niya bilang Best Daytime Talk Show.

Pinasalamatan ng 62-year old talk show host ang buong staff and crew ng Ellen kahit nabugbog siya sa ilang alegasyon of creating a toxic work environment.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you, from deep down in my heart, I thank you. I am not only accepting this award for myself, I’m accepting it on the behalf of my amazing crew, my amazing staff, who make this show possible. They show up every single day, they give a 100 percent of themselves, a 100 percent of the time. That’s 250 people times 170 shows a year times 18 years, and if you carry the two and divide it by 11, my point is I love them all. And I thank them for what they do every single day to help that show be the best that we try to make it every single day.

“I know this award comes from the people, I say thank you to the people. For all of my fans for supporting me, for sticking by me, I cannot tell you how grateful I am and what this means to me. It’s more than I can possibly tell you, especially right now. I’m going to wipe it down with Lysol and put it on my shelf.”

Simula noong bumalik ang show ni Ellen last September, nabawasan ang sponsors nito at hindi na maganda ang performance nito sa ratings game.
