Apl.De.Ap napabilib sa tinuturing na rap’s newest prodigy Kinm

Ipinakikilala ng Curve Entertainment ang kanilang newest discovery – singer, songwriter and rapper, Jelo Acosta.

Nagpakita ang 18-year old genius ng tremendous potential bilang versatile artist kaya naman hindi na siya pinakawalan ng Curve.

Sa kabila ng quarantine restrictions, araw-gabi siyang nakipagtrabaho sa various studios collaborating with different musicians in his genre kaya makikita mo kung gaano siya kaseryoso sa kanyang craft.

Incorporating a distinct R&B-trap sound, alam niya ang gusto niyang gawin at ang direction ng kanyang music.

Bitbit ang sheer passion and innocently good looks, Jelo could very well be the next important artist to hit the local rap/hip-hop scene.

Just very recently, nag-trending si Jelo when he made history of beco-ming the very first Filipino rap artist to pass the blind auditions of The Voice Philippines across its adult, teens or kids categories. Kinanta niya ang Nadarang ni Shanti Dope na naging rason para mag-turn ng chair ang coaches na sina Bamboo and Apl.De.Ap. He eventually landed on Team Apl, na siyempre ay obvious choice, after performing an impromptu freestyle rap with the Black Eyed Peas member.

Pero hindi lahat ay papuri ang natanggap ni Jelo. May mga criticism din. Say ng ibang detractors that it was pure comedic act, as no one would think a rapper will attempt to join a talent search dominated by belters. Hindi na-discourage sa mga nasabing comment si Jelo. Tinanggap niya with an open mind and heart, and used those disapprovals as a way to further improve his craft.

In fact, ginawa pa niyang inspiration ng kanyang first single, ang Kengkoy, ang mga kritisismo.

Ang kanta ay tungkol sa hindi pagsuko and continue pursuing one’s dreams despite the rejections from people around you.

The song embodies pure positivity, and Jelo’s seriousness about his art.

Kasalukuyan nang inaayos ang full album, all songs composed and written by Jelo himself, which should validate that he is one of the most significant rap artists to emerge in this generation.
