Miss World Ph, tuloy ang laban

MANILA, Philippines — Tuloy na tuloy ngayong taon ang Miss World Philippines 2020.

Nakatakda itong maganap sa December 2020 ayon sa national director ng MWP na si Arnold Vegafria.

Sa Facebook account ng MWP, in-announce nito na bukod sa MWP crown, may pitong korona pa na puwedeng mapa­nalunan ng mga magiging contes­tants this year.

“Get ready as this year’s Miss World Philippines is going to be the biggest and grandest pageant to date with 7 crowns at stake: Miss World Ph, Miss Eco International Ph, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas, Miss Multinational Ph, Miss Eco Teen International Ph, Miss Philippines Tourism, and ______________? Any guesses? A new crown awaits. Application starts this summer. #FreshFilipinaForTheWorld”

Last year’s Miss World Philippines na si Michelle Marquez Dee ay umabot sa Top 12 finalist.

Samantalang cancelled na sa taong ito ang Miss International beauty pageant dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic. Ito ang second time na makansela ang naturang pageant since it began in 1960.

Ayon sa statement na nilabas sa media ni Akemi Shimomura, International Cultural Association chairperson ng Miss International pageant:

“Taking into consideration the health and safety issues, as well as the ongoing global impact caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have come to a conclusion to cancel this year’s Miss International 2020 pageant, which was originally sche­duled to be held this fall. We sincerely hope for your continued support and cooperation.

“Rest assured that through our slogan “Cheer All Women” we are still committed on pursuing our goal of supporting all women, and continuing with the legacy of this beauty pageant, which is to promote “friendship and goodwill with other countries in the world” and the “realization of world peace through international exchange.”

Sa October 2021 na raw ise-celebrate ang 60th year ng Miss International. Si Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand ay ang current Miss International titleholder.

Kris negosyo muna bago kasal

Dahil sa tatlong buwang quarantine, maraming magkakarelasyon ang nalaway sa isa’t isa. Kabilang na rito si Kris Bernal at ang fiance niyang si Perry Choi.

Ninety one days nga raw silang hindi nagkasama at hanggang video chat lang muna sila habang may quarantine. Pero ngayon na maluwag na at puwede na silang magkita, sinunod pa rin nila ang social distancing kahit gustung-gusto na nilang magyakapan at halikan ang isa’t isa.

   Post pa ni Kris sa Instagram:  “91 days since I’ve been this close to my fiancé. No matter how many video calls we’ve done, there’s really no replacement for one-to-one contact. I wanted to hug, kiss, cuddle him, but we opted not to. Flex ko lang si @choi.perry! I’m so thankful to have someone so supportive by my side and someone who shares my passion for helping others. Here’s to the rest of our lives together. I love you so much!”

Noong February 6, 2020 nag-propose si Perry kay Kris sa isang surprise party. Tatlong taon din daw silang nagkaroon ng relasyon. Mentor ni Kris si Perry sa kanyang pagiging isang businesswoman.

Wala pa raw silang sinisimulan na wedding plans dahil gusto raw nilang unahin ang pagbangon ulit ng restaurant business nila para muling makapagtrabaho ang kanilang mga employees.

May sariling online business naman si Kris noong kasagsagan ng quarantine kung saan binebenta niya ang kanyang cosmetics line.
