Nadine walang kawala sa Viva bumuwelta sa tapatang David and Goliath

Itinaggi ng Viva na tapatan ng David and Goliath ang pangyayari sa kanilang kumpanya at sa dating alagang si Nadine Lustre bilang sagot sa pahayag ng legal counsel ng actress na si Atty. Lorna Kapunan.

“This is not a David versus Goliath scenario as portrayed by Atty. Kapunan. Neither is this a situation where artists are taken advantage of by a talent management company. Rather, this matter is about respect – respect for the law, respect for contractual commitments, and good faith in professional relationships.

“The Agreement that Nadine entered into with VIVA is valid and subsisting. Under this Agreement, VIVA acts as the sole and exclusive agent and manager of Nadine to develop, advance, and promote her as a performing artist. At the time Nadine executed her first Agreement with VIVA in 2009, she was assisted by her parents. Thereafter, Nadine executed subsequent contracts with VIVA to extend their Exclusive Agency and Management Agreement until June 2029. All the elements of a valid contract are present in Nadine’s Agreement, namely: consent of the parties; object certain, which is the subject matter of the contract; and cause of the obligation which is established,” ayon sa statement na natanggap ko na mula sa Viva na ire-represent ng Reyno Tiu Domingo & Santos Law Offices.

Sinagot din ng inalisang management group ni Nadine na mutually beneficial ang kanilang kontrata at ang akusasyong pinagsasamantalahan ng Viva ang mga alaga nilang artista.

“In performing their functions, VIVA acted in good faith and with Nadine’s welfare and best interest in mind. Thus, Atty. Kapunan’s claim that Nadine’s Agreement with VIVA is unconscionable and oppressive is unfounded. On the contrary, as discussed above, Nadine’s Agreement with VIVA is mutually beneficial. Similar to other VIVA artists and talents, Nadine built and established her career through VIVA. To be fair to VIVA, the termination of Nadine’s Agreement should be mutually agreed upon. Otherwise, they should go to court to litigate this matter.

“We likewise take exception to Atty. Kapunan’s claim that VIVA has taken advantage of young artists for the longest time. This accusation is malicious and unjustified.

“VIVA established its business on trust and fairness. The talents developed by VIVA that turned into stars in the industry are countless. VIVA’s roster of artists, past and present, is a testament to its reputation in the industry and it will not allow its goodwill to be tarnished by conjectures and motherhood statements not supported by facts. “

Pinanindigan din ng kumpanya na null and void ang lahat ng mga direktang makikipag-deal kay Nadine.

“At bottom, VIVA is not harassing or maligning Nadine as claimed by her lawyer. Neither is VIVA interfering with third parties in directly dealing with Nadine. Rather, VIVA is merely seeking to enforce its rights under the law and under the Agreement that Nadine knowingly entered into and benefited from.”

Hanggang sa sinusulat namin ito ay wala pang sagot ang kampo ni Nadine.

Pero asahang sasagot ang abogado nitong si Atty. Kapunan na kilalang palaban.

Walang career noon ang dalawa at struggling artists pa lang pero sinugalan siya ng kumpanya ni Boss Vic sa pelikulang Ang Diary ng Panget na story galing sa Wattpad.

Naalala ko noon na may ilang nakapaligid kay Boss Vic na bumubulong at duda pa kung may mangyayari sa kanila.

Pero naalala kong nanindigan noon si Boss Vic na siya ang bahala, dama niya na sisikat ang dalawa.

Hindi siya nagkamali. Sumikat sila sobra pa sa inaasahan.

Base sa mga pahayag ni Nadine, palaban ang kampo niya kaya asahang, mahabang bakbakan ito.

Naging memorable ang natapos na buwan ‘di lang sa ating bayan kundi sa buong mundo. Una dahil sa pagputok ng bulkang Taal na libo-libo ang naapektuhan, ang pagkalat ng novel coronavirus at ang trahedyang naganap sa basketball legend na si Kobe Bryant, sa anak na si Gianna at iba pang mga kasamahan.

Ang bilis lang ng panahon, isang buwan na ang nabawas sa isang taon kaya talagang ‘di dapat magsayang ng oras.

Samantala, nag-viral ang post ng isang estudyan­teng taga-Wuhan, China na umuwi lang doon para sa Chinese New Year after a year pero hindi siya makaalis matapos i-lock down ang Wuhan dahil nga sa pagkalat ng corona virus.

Nasasaktan si Helen Chen sa mga nababasa niya sa internet na deserve nila kung anuman ang nararanasan nila ngayon.

“I’m one of the millions in Wuhan right now who is affected by this. It is heart breaking to see comments here saying how we deserve it.

“Yes. Some people are disgusting and uneducated, they eat everything that moves and have total disregard for health/safety regulations. But most people aren’t like that. Most of us are just normal folks living a normal life. We are just as angry at those exotic animal traders as you are, if not more.

“As of now, most of our fridges are still fully stocked from CNY, but what about in a week or even a couple of days when we run out of food? My parents just came back from the supermarket and many shelves are empty.
