8th ID installs new battalion commanders
TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Army's 8th Infantry Division the other day installed new commanders of the 14th Infantry Battalion and the 20th IB during change of command ceremony held at Camp Vicente Lucban in Barangay Maulong of Catbalogan City.
Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Ebarita, who came from Camp Lapu-Lapu in Cebu City, is now the new commander of the 14th IB, replacing Lieutenant Colonel Peter Burgonio, who was re-assigned as staff of the 8th ID.
Lieutenant Colonel Hilario Palma, who was with the Support Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines general headquarters, is now the new commander of the 20th IB, replacing Lieutenant Colonel Miguel Ceballos who was also re-assigned as division staff of the 8th ID like Burgonio.
The revamp among military officials in Eastern Visayas was only part of the normal routine every during election period, similar with those in other government agencies, said 8th ID authorities.
In the National Bureau of Investigation-Region 8, Director Romeo Almendares was re-assigned to head the NBI in Zamboanga City and replaced by Cesar Bacane, who came from Region 4-A (Calabarzon). — (FREEMAN)
