Dumaguete City Council special session okays teachers bonuses, tanods uniform

CEBU, Philippines – Upon the behest of Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria,  the City Council conducted a special session on Monday and, in less than 20 minutes, approved en masse two appropriation ordinances.

The Council okayed the allocation of P1,000 in additional incentive for each of the more than 800 teachers serving in Dumaguete, and P500,000 appropriation for the purchase of uniforms for all tanods in the 30 barangays in the city.

According to Councilor Nilo Sayson, the plan of the mayor was to come up with one tanod-one uniform scheme, of which all tanods throughout the city will have the same set of uniforms. (FREEMAN)
