NOrPPO monitoring armed men presence in Negros Oriental
DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — Senior Superintendent Dionardo Carlos, officer-in-charge director of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, confirmed to the local media he received intelligence reports about the presence of armed but still unidentified men in the province.
These armed men arrived only lately, and Carlos said their motive of being here was still to be determined, although it was possible that they were hired to carry out activities in relation to the 2016 elections.
Carlos said NOrPPO is now reviewing details and data of the reported presence, but he admitted the police already have names of these people that are undergoing verification, including their locations.
Carlos said he already discussed this matter with Chief Superintendent Prudencio Tom Bañas, director of the Police Regional Office-7. (FREEMAN)
