Aftershocks felt in Bohol
TAGBILARAN CITY — Aftershocks of intensity 4 hit this city and of intensity 5 in Talibon and Duero towns Friday night, according to Nolan Evangelista of the local Phivolcs here.
Evangelista also confirmed the time of occurrence at 8:47 p.m. and the minor aftershocks were expected after the ground shaking. He also said its depth of 10 kilometers is very shallow location from the surface.
Bohol was spared from the threat of tsunami because the Samar island is shielding this island province.
Governor Edgar Chatto said he was constantly monitoring the impact of the earthquake felt in most parts of the province, and has been coordinating with the local Philvolcs and TARSIER 117 (Telephone and Radio Integrated Emergency Response)—the quick response team of the provincial government.
Joy Dacua of TARSIER 117 said there was no report of damage yet, but they have been dispatching messages to each town, urging the officials to immediately relay any emergency in their respective sites so that the province can promptly extend assistance.
The police stations in different coastal towns also said that there has been no damage reported yet in their areas of responsibility.
