MANILA, Philippines — Malaki ang naging papel ng mga local officials upang matigil ang pangingikil ng mga komunistang-terorista sa mga politiko sa nagdaang halalan.

Ito ang paniniwala ng National Task Force to End Local Communists Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Sinabi ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya sa virtual press briefing ng NTF-ELCAC na tagumpay ang pagtigil sa pananakot na ginagawa ng mga rebelde.

Ani Malaya, magandang ulat ito sa Pangulo lalo pa at dinagdagan ang babala bago pa maghalalan  na mananagot ang sino man na bumigay sa ‘demand’ ng CPP-NPA-NDF na paglabag ng Republic Act 10168, kilala bilang “Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012”, Section 261 ng Omnibus Election Code at Article 137 ng Revised Penal Code or the Dislo­yalty of Public Officers.
