VIP program ni Duterte suportado
MANILA, Philippines — Suportado ng Pitmaster Foundation ang pagpapasa ng charter ng Virology Institute of the Philippines (VIP) ni Pangulong Duterte na nabanggit sa huling State of the Nation Address (SONA).
“We fully support the passage of the charter of the Virology Institute of the Philippines. The VIP will help address biological threats to the gamefowl industry of the country. Such threats include outbreaks of avian flu, the most recent concerning incident of which involves ducks and chickens having been detected with H5N1 in Central Luzon,” pahayag ni Pitmaster Foundation Executive Director Atty. Caroline Cruz.
Ayon kay Atty. Cruz, umaasa silang ang naturang charter ay maipapasa sa panahon ng kasalukuyang administrasyon at kumpiyansa na makatutulong ang VIP upang matiyak na ang gamefowl sector, na nag-i-empleyo ng 1.6 milyong Pinoy at nagkakahalaga ng P50 bilyon na makakatulong sa national development.
Siniguro rin naman ng Pitmaster handa silang makipatulungan sa Department of Agriculture (DA) at sa mga lokal na pamahalaan sa buong bansa, upang hikayatin ang mga breeders at iba pang stakeholders na mag-adopt ng mga pamamaraan upang masugpo ang H5N1 at iba pang avian diseases.
