MANILA, Philippines — Nasa “red alert” nga­yon ang National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) sa posibleng epekto ng Bagyong Bising lalo na sa Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, at Northern Luzon.

Ito ang kinumpirma ni NDRRMC executive director USec Ricardo Jalad, kaya’t inatasan na ang Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang mga local government units para maghanda na sa mga gagawing preventive evacuations sakaling lumala ang sitwasyon.

 Sinabi ni Jalad, kanilang tinitignan ang posibleng worst-case scenario dahil sa malakas na pag-ulan at posibleng tumama ito sa kalupaan.

Naka-standby na rin sa ngayon ang NDRRMC response units, kasama ang mga uniformed personnel para sa gagawing evacuations.

Nakaalerto rin ang iba pang mga member-agencies ng council kabilang ang Office of Civil Defense, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, at Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Iniulat naman ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), nasa 995 na mga pasahero ang stranded ngayon sa ibat ibang pier sa Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes at Camarines Norte dahil sa Bagyong Bising.
