Interconnection deal sa mobile calls, SMS nilagdaan ng Globe, DITO

MANILA, Philippines — Sa layuning mapaghusay ang customer experience at services, lumagda ang Philippine telecommunications players Globe at DITO Telecommunity Corp. sa isang interconnection deal na nagkokonekta sa mga subscriber ng dalawang telcos.

Saklaw ng interconnection agreement ang domestic mobile calls at SMS na nagbibigay-daan sa mga customer ng Globe na makatawag at makapagpadala ng SMS sa mga customer ng DITO nang walang dagdag na charges. Ang interconnection ay inaasahang magsisimula sa susunod na buwan.

“Globe’s collaboration with DITO Telecommunity is part of our commitment to improve customer services by enhancing connectivity among others. This interconnection also reflects the vibrancy of competition in the telecommunications industry,” pahayag ni Atty. Froilan Castelo, General Counsel ng Globe.

Isinasapinal na rin ng Globe ang interconnection deal sa DITO Telecommunity sa fixed landline space.

Ang interconnection ng mga telco provider ay alinsunod sa mga probisyon para sa compulsory interconnection ng authorized public telecommunications carriers sa ilalim ng Republic Act 7925. Layunin ng batas na lumikha ng “universally accessible at fully integrated nationwide telecommunications network” para makahikayat ng mas maraming infrastructure investments mula sa pribadong sektor na magbibigay kapakinabangan sa mga consumer.
