Meralco pipiliting makahirit ng Game 5

MANILA, Philippines — Ang pagtabla sa TNT Tropang Giga ang pilit na gagawin ng Meralco para makahirit ng ‘do-or-die’ game sa 2023 PBA Go­vernors’ Cup best-of-five semifinals series.

Lalabanan ng Bolts ang Tropang Giga sa krusyal na Game Four ngayong alas-5:45 ng hapon sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Nahulog ang Meralco sa 1-2 agwat matapos isuko ang Game Three, 80-99, noong Miyerkules kung saan humataw si import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson para sa pagresbak ng TNT.

Nauna nang tinalo ng Meralco ang TNT sa Game Two sa overtime, 124-117, para tumabla sa 1-1.

“They were able to esta­blish their game im­mediately in the first quarter. Their import came out with a lot of energy and pretty much dominated the first half,” ani Meralco coach Norman Black sa TNT at kay Hollis-Jefferson.

“We tried to make a little bit of a recovery in the second half, but were just down too many to get back into the game,” dagdag ng one-time PBA Grand Slam champion mentor sa Bolts.

Kung muling mananalo ang TNT sa Meralco ay maitatakda ang kanilang best-of-seven championship series ng Barangay Ginebra na kinumpleto ang 3-0 sweep sa San Miguel sa semis.
