Marcial sasalang na uli sa professional boxing

MANILA, Philippines — Bago matapos ang taon ay inaasahang muling aak-yat ng boxing ring si Pinoy middleweight Eumir Felix Marcial para sa kanyang ikalawang professional fight.

Ito ay matapos sumuntok ng bronze medal ang tubong Zamboanga City sa katatapos lamang na Olympic Games sa Tokyo, Japan.

“I’m just so happy that he was able to achieve a medal, made the Philippines proud, made his family proud, made himself proud, and the Senator (Manny Pacquiao) and myself are very proud of what he accomplished,” ani MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons kay Marcial.

Noong Hulyo ng 2020 ay pinapirma ng MP Promotions ni Pacquiao, ang world eight-division champion, si Marcial sa isang six-year contract.

Ginawa ni Marcial ang kanyang pro debut noong Disyembre kung saan binugbog niya si American Andrew Whitfield via unanimous decision.

Inaasahan ni Gibbons na ipagpapatuloy ng Pinoy fighter ang kanyang pag-eensayo sa susunod na buwan sa Wildcard Boxing Gym sa ilalim ni Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.

“We’re hoping by the beginning of September, to have him over here,” sabi ni Gibbons sa 25-anyos na Pinoy pug. “Absolutely, he’s going to be in the ring, somewhere, having another pro fight by the end of the year. That’s a gimme, for sure.”.
