13-babaeng siklista sasalang agad sa ITT

MANILA, Philippines — Kaagad papagitna ang 13 women riders na papadyak sa individual time trial (ITT) sa Day One ng PhilCycling National Trials for Road sa Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone sa Pampanga sa Sabado.

Kabuuang 116 siklista — 98 lalake at 13 babae — ang mag-uunahan para sa karangalan sa national trials na may criterium at massed start events din.

“We will be witnessing competitive cycling right on Day 1 of the Trials and with the road races set for Sunday, this event is one compact competition,” ani Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) at PhilCycling president Rep. Abraham Bambol Tolentino.

Ang karera ay gagawin sa isang bubble environment at ang lahat ng kalahok ay dapat sumailalim sa RT-PCR at Antigen testing.

Sa Sabado ay maglalaban ang 13 women riders sa distansyang 17.1 kilometro para sa ITT sa karerang inihahandog ng Standard Insurance, Smart, MVP Sports Foundation, Bases Conversion Development Authority sa pamumuno ni Secretary Vince Dizon at ni Ret. Brig. Gen. ManuelGaerlan ng Clark Development Corp.

Susundan ito ng 54 male cyclists na papadyak sa 24.6-km loop na magiging lugar din para sa road races sa Linggo. Pakakawalan naman sa Sabado ng hapon ang criterium sa 2.3-km perimeter ng Clark Parade Grounds.
