Sagot ni Mayweather ang libing ni Floyd
MANILA, Philippines — Sasagutin ni retired boxing great Floyd Mayweather, Jr. ang funeral services para kay George Floyd, ayon kay Mayweather Promotions chief exe-cutive Leonard Ellerbe.
Sinabi ni Ellerbe na tinanggap ng pamilya ni Floyd ang nasabing alok ni Mayweather.
“He’ll probably get mad at me for saying that, but yes, (Mayweather) is definitely paying for the fune-ral,” ani Ellerbe.
Samantala, nagtatag ang mga NBA coaches ng isang komite para sa racial injustice at reform sa harap ng magkakahiwalay na protesta ukol sa pagkamatay ni Floyd noong nakaraang linggo sa kamay ng mga pulis sa Minneapolis.
Sina Gregg Popovich ng San Antonio Spurs at Steve Kerr ng Golden State Warriors ang mangunguna sa nasabing grupo para sa mga NBA teams na apek-tado ng mga protesta sa kani-kanilang mga siyudad.
Hinikayat naman ni NBA Commissioner Adam Silver ang lahat ng 30 teams na makiisa sa pagtutulak ng social change.
Tinuligsa ni Popovich ang liderato ni President Donald Trump sa pagharap sa nasabing problema.
“It’s unbelievable. If Trump had a brain, even if it was 99 percent cynical, he would come out and say something to unify people,” wika ni Popovich. “But he doesn’t care about bringing people together. Even now. That’s how deranged he is. It’s all about him.”
