Meggie Ochoa at Pauline Lopez may ibabahagi sa National Sports Summit

MANILA, Philippines — Ilalahad nina jiujitsu queen Meggie Ochoa at taekwondo jin Pauline Lopez ang mga sikreto ng kanilang tagumpay sa pagdaraos ng 2020 National Sports Summit (NSS) sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) sa Pebrero 27-28.

Kumopo ang 29-anyos na si Ochoa, isang veteran internationalist sa jiujitsu, ng tatlong world championships titles bukod pa sa sinikwat na gold medal sa women’s -45kg class ng nakaraang 30th Southeast Asian Games.

“It is a huge honor and privilege to be able to speak in such a momentous event. I do not feel worthy to speak in such an event, but given this one of a kind opportunity, I will make the most of it and do my best. Overall, I am just grateful.” wika ni Ochoa.

Maliban sa pagiging champion athlete, si Ochoa rin ang founder ng ‘Fight to Protect’ movement na nagbabantay sa mga bata laban sa sexual abuse sa pamamagitan ng sports.

Kamakailan ay hinirang si Ochoa sa ‘The 50 Greatest Filipino Athletes of All Time’ kasama ang iba pang Filipino greats.

“Most likely I will be speaking about my journey as an athlete. The greatest lesson that sport has taught me is to never forget the reason why you do and what you do, because it will push you through the hardest times.” dagdag pa ng jiujitsu artist.

Inangkin naman ni Lopez ang gintong medalya sa women’s 57kg class ng 2019 SEA Games at makakasama si Ochoa sa pagkukuwento sa kanilang mga karanasan patungo sa pagkakaroon ng pangalan sa Philippine sports.

Sina Ochoa at Lopez ay makakasama ng mga kilalang sports specialists at educators sa two-day lecture-workshops na pamamahalaan ni Dr. T.J. Rosandich, ang President at CEO ng United States Sports Academy (USSA).

Ibabahagi ni Rosandich ang kanyang expertise mula sa isang First World Perspective.

Tatalakayin naman ni Dr. Celso Dayrit, ang chairman ng Southeast Asian Games Executive Committee ang Philippine Sports and Olympic movement, habang si Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary Atty. Revsee Escobedo ang magbibigay ng lecture sa status ng sports sa mga paaralan.

Si Davao del Norte Youth and Sports Development Head Giovanni Gulanes ang maglalahad sa regional sports program.
