Pasturan hindi na matatapos ang season para sa Blazers
MANILA, Philippines — Malaking kawalan para sa kampanya ng College of St. Benilde sa NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament ang pagkaka-sideline ni shooting guard Jimboy Pasturan.
Hindi na makakapaglaro sa buong season si Pasturan matapos magkaroon ng dislocated shoulder nang tumama siya sa screen ni San Beda big man Damie Cuntapay kamakalawa.
Isa si Pasturan sa mga bumuhat sa Blazers para iposte ang ikaanim nilang sunod na panalo sa first round eliminations at nagtala ng mga average na 12.0 points, 3.2 rebounds at 1.8 assists sa unang anim niyang laro.
“He’s (Pasturan) probably our best shooting guard right now. He’s a guy you see the other teams starting to prepare for him a lot, they probably respect him a lot,” sabi ni assistant coach Charles Tiu.
“Without him, that’s one less shooter in the team that we can’t find any other shooters we really missed Jimboy’s presence.”
Nanghihinayang din si Tiu sa sinapit ng isa sa mga scorer nila sa first round dahil nagsisimula na niyang makuha ang kanyang tiyempo at laro ngayong season.
Pero kahit na naging mapait ang nangyari kay Pasturan ay umaasa pa rin siya na makakabalik sa koponan ang dating Adamson player dahil napakahalagang bahagi siya ng tropa.
“Finally he figured out the game, the college basketball game and sayang lang that the shoulder injury slowed him down but hopefully he can bounce back,” dagdag pa ni Tiu kay Pasturan. “We’re gonna miss Jimboy. He’s very, very important to our team.”
