Rematch kay Manny ayaw ni Floyd

MANILA, Philippines — Walang interes si un­de­feated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, Jr. na muling makalaban si eight-division world king Manny Pacquiao sa isang rematch.

Sinabi ni Maywea­ther Promotions chief exe­cu­tive Leonard Ellerbe na kahit magkano pa ang i-offer sa kanyang bata ay wala itong balak magbalik sa ibabaw ng ring.

“Floyd has no interest. He has zero interest. He’s been doing this all his life. And after a while, you get burned out. He’s given the sport everything,” ani Ellerbe sa Boxing Scene.

Masaya aniya si Mayweather sa pagiging reti­rado kasama ang kanyang pamilya.

“He’s very content. He’s living his best life. I just talked to him earlier today. We went over some business stuff. He’s tra­velling, spending time with his kids, spending time with his family,” ani Ellerbe.

Magugunitang tumabo ng mahigit $300 mil­yon si Mayweather sa ka­­nilang mega showdown ni Pac­quiao noong 2015 – ang itinuturing na pinakamalaking laban sa kasaysayan ng boksing kung kinita ang pag-uu­sa­­pan.

Nauna nang inihayag ni Hall of Famer Freddie Roach na gusto niyang maikasa ang Pacquiao-May­weather rematch pa­ra tapusin ang isang ‘un­finished business’.

“Hopefully we can get Mayweather to come to the table. I would like us to have one more crack at him. We didn’t fight a great fight that night. Manny’s shoulder didn’t help at all. He’s had sur­gery since then, he’s 100 percent now,” wika ni Roach.
