Derek Ramsay pang-basketball din
MANILA, Philippines — Ibilang na si Derek Ramsay sa mga celebrities na maglalaro sa darating na season ng Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) para sa Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics.
“I love the game of basketball. Joining Team Tanduay is an honor,” ani Ramsay. “I always considered myself an athlete before an actor. I know there will be haters and people who will doubt me, but that’s okay. This is a challenge that I’ve decided to take on. I hope to help the team in any possible way I can.”
Maliban kay Ramsay, ang iba pang celebrities na naglalaro sa MPBL ay sina Gerald Anderson, Xian Lim, Mark Andaya at Andre Paras.
Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na maglalaro sa isang commercial league ang television at movie personality matapos niyang isuot ang uniporme ng Kettle Korn team sa Philippine Basketball League.
Maliban sa basketball ay naglalaro din si Ramsay ng ultimate frisbee at beach football.
“Derek is not only a good actor, but a good basketball player as well. We are happy to have him on our team,” sabi ni Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics team manager at Absolute Distillers, Inc. COO Gerry Tee kay Ramsay, endorser ng Tanduay simula noong 2014 at natulungan ang World’s Number One Rum sa local at global market.
Kaagad makikita sa aksyon si Ramsay para sa Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics sa opening game ng MPBL sa Hunyo 12 sa Mall of Asia Arena at sa kanilang Dubai game sa Setyembre.
Ang Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics ang inaugural champions ng regional amateur basketball league sa bansa at nakapasok sa South Division Finals ng nakaraang MPBL Datu Cup kung saan sinibak sila ng runner-up na Davao Occidental Tigers.
“Derek will surely add more excitement in our games. With him on board, fans can expect an even stronger Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics team,” dagdag pa ni Tee.
