Tuloy na tuloy ang SEAG--Cayetano

MANILA, Philippines — Tiniyak ni Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) chairman Alan Peter Cayetano na tuloy ang pagtataguyod ng bansa ng 30th Southeast Asian Games sa Nobyembre 30 hanggang Disyembre 11.

Tuloy ang paghahanda ng PHISGOC sa kabila ng kaliwa’t kanang problemang kinakaharap ng orga-nisasyon partikular na sa pondo.

Buo rin aniya ang suporta ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte upang maging matagumpay ang pagtatanghal ng SEA Games sa bansa.

“We at the PHISGOC would like to assure our athletes, the sports community, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the rest of the Filipino people that all preparations for the 30th South East Asian games are in full swing,” ani Cayetano.

Ipinagmalaki ni Cayetano na makukumpleto na ang New Clark City Sports Complex – ang venue ng ilang importanteng events gaya ng centerpiece athletics at swimming – na nakatakdang buksan sa Setyembre.

“The fast construction of these facilities proves the Duterte Administration’s commitment to enhance Philippine sports development to produce more world-class athletes and to host international sporting events in the future,” ani Cayetano.

Aminado si Cayetano na malaking problemang kinakaharap ng organizing committee ang pondong gagamitin sa biennial games. Ngunit tiwala ito na maaa-yos ang lahat sa tulong iba’t ibang sector ng gobyerno.

“Budget is clearly a challenge. We continue to work with legislative and administrative branches of government. There is no stopping the Philippines from hosting the 30th SEA games,” ani Cayetano.

May ilan aniya na gustong isabotahe ang preparasyon ng bansa sa SEA Games ngunit handa ang PHISGOC na harapin ito para maiwas ang bansa sa kahihiyan.

“It may be apparent that there are personalities who are eyeing to sabotage the preparations for the Philippines’ hosting of the SEA games. We at PHISGOC would like to reiterate our openness to listen and address their concerns on various issues. We will not tolerate fake news or misinformation that will damage the image of the country,” giit ni Cayetano.

Nanawagan si Cayetano sa lahat ng opisyales at stakeholders na magkaisa para maitaguyod ng maayos ang SEA Games.
