PSC suportado ang PRISAA

MANILA, Philippines — Naglaan ang Philippine Sports Commission ng P1 million pesos bilang financial assistance sa 2018 National PRISAA Sports competition na lalaraga sa April 22 sa Tagbilaran, Bohol pagkatapos idaos ang Palarong Pambansa sa Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

“PSC is mandated not only help national athletes but also other leagues that are source of future stars like PRISAA headed by new president and former PSC Commissioner Fr. Vicente Uy,” sabi ni Chairman William Ramirez sa panayam sa kanyang opisina.

Kung maaalala, dumalo si Ramirez sa pulong ng PRISAA na ginawa sa Angeles University Foundation sa Angeles City sa Pampanga kamakailan at nangako ng financial assistance sa association na binubuo ng mahigit 600 private colleges and Universities nationwide.

Sa temang “Building Nation Through Sport” mahigit 5,000 atleta ang magtatagisan ng husay sa 18 sports kasama ang medal rich na athletics, swimming at weightlifting kung saan unang naglaro si Brazil Olympics silver medalist at Asian Weightlifting champion Hidilyn Diaz sa Zamboanga kasama ang kanyang kababayan  na si Nestor Colonia, Asian Games veteran at ASEAN Weightlifting gold medalist.

Ayon kay Atilano handang-handa na ang Bohol i-host sa unang pagkakataon ang naturang annual competition na itinatag noong 1953 para bigyan ng pagkaka-taon ang mga atleta sa private colleges and universities  na ipakita ang kanilang husay at galing sa kanilang paboritong sports.

“I expect many young potential athletes will shine and preserve the good name of PRISAA as traditional breeding ground of national athletes past and present,” sambit ni Atilano.

Nakaline-up din ang basketball, boxing, chess, lawn tennis, table tennis, wrestling, baseball, sepak takraw, softball, archery at volleyball.
