Ramirez kumpiyansa sa programa ng PSC

MANILA, Philippines -  Malaki ang tiwala ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William “Butch” Ramirez na magtatagumpay sila sa inilahad na anim na misyon  at 17 programa bago matapos ang admi-nistrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa taong 2022.

Kabilang sa anim na misyon ng bagong PSC ay ang pagtatatag ng Public Communications Office kung saan ay magkakaroon sila ng research at data-banking system at information processing at business solutions na mas higit pa kaysa sa Google at Wikipedia.

“Our three-day directional meeting was very critical for the past three months of our administration in the PSC. Now, at least we have a clearer direction for the next five years of this administration,” sabi ni Ramirez sa ginanap na press conference kaha-pon sa College of St. Benilde Hotel sa Mala-te, Manila.

Ang ibang inilahad na programa ng go-vernment sports agency ay ang pagkakaroon ng partnership sa 10 private corporations para masuportahan ang kanilang mga gagawing proyekto katulad ng Philippine Sports Institute.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni PSC Commissioner Arnold Agustin na inaprubahan na ng Board of Commissio-ners ang pagbibigay allowances sa mga atleta ng Philippine Paralympic Committee na sa ngayon ay nagsasanay din para sa ASEAN Paralympic Games na gagawin sa Kuala Lumpur sa Disyembre.

Sinabi ni Agustin, ang Commissioner-in charge ng Para Games,  na pareho rin ang ma-ta-tanggap ng mga atletang may kapansanan at mga elite athletes ng Team Philippines.

“The Board appro-ved the giving of allo-wances to athletes with disability with the same amount with those elite athletes from the Team Philippines. So, now we are giving the same privilleges to both of them,” sabi ni Agustin.

Idinagdag pa ni Ra-mirez na hindi magkaroon ng problema sa infrastructure para sa darating na 2019 Southeast Asian Games na gaganapin sa ikaapat na pagkakataon dito sa Pilipinas dahil may nakahanda nang mga sports facilities sa Metro Manila.

“There will be no problem as far as our scheduled hosting for the 2019 SEA Games is concerned  because Metro Manila is ready,” ayon pa kay Ramirez.

Kabilang sa mga facilities na posibleng gamitin para sa 2019 Philippine SEA Games ay ang Philippine Arena sa Bocaue, Bulacan at ang Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City, dagdag ni Ramirez.
