Erram going through motions with NLEX

Olmin Leyba - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — As the wait continues for the approval of the three-way trade proposal that would send him to the TNT KaTropa, NLEX slotman Poy Erram prefers to go about his regular business with his Road Warriors family.

The 6-foot-8 Erram even attended NLEX’ morning practice yesterday then joined the team for its noontime game against Alaska in the Phoenix Super Basketball Tournament at Upper Deck. Coach Yeng Guiao opted to sit Erram out, though, and leaned on Raul Soyud’s 22-point, eight-rebound performance in beating the Aces, 104-89, for their second straight win in the four-team pre-season tournament.

“Wala pa namang lumalabas na kahit ano so sa NLEX pa rin ako. Pupunta ako nang maaga, shooting, ginagawa ko pa rin daily routine ko kasi ayoko namang nakatanga, naghihintay lang, parang mawawala rin ako sa kundisyon nun. If ever di matuloy, tuloy ako sa NLEX, walang problema,” said Erram.

NLEX has agreed on a deal with Blackwater and TNT which will see Erram going to the KaTropa, Anthony Semerad to the Road Warriors, and Mike Magat and Ed Daquioag to the Elite as well as multiple draft picks.

It has yet to secure the approval from the PBA’s trade committee, which reportedly ordered the parties to make minor revisions.

“Of course we still consider him as part of the team until may final ano na sa trade. But we’re just trying to relish our last few days together,” said Guiao, who earlier shared that if it were his call, Erram should stay put.

“Even though he knows there’s a pending development, he comes to practice religiously, doesn’t miss anything, even itong game, hindi niya alam kung maglalaro siya, dumating pa rin siya,” he added.
