American actor, puring-puri ang mga nakatrabaho sa paradise

All praises ang American actor na si Christian Kane sa mga nakatrabaho niyang Pinoy sa American series na Almost Paradise ng ABS-CBN at Electric Entertainment na kinunan ang kabuuan sa Pilipinas.

Kwento ni Christian, na nakilala sa mga programa at pelikula tulad ng  Angel, Leverage, The Librarians, Just Married, at Taxi, tinrato siyang pamilya dito kaya mas naka-pokus siya sa kanyang karakter.  : “I was treated more like family there than I have ever been my entire life. It just felt like home. I have some of the best people around me. They welcomed me in and so I got to concentrate on the character and not being away from home.”

Dagdag pa nito : “I love Cebu. I just absolutely loved it. It was very beautiful. I got my diving license there.”

At ang isang natikman ni Christian doon - nilarang bakasi (reef eel soup). “It wasn’t bad at all. It was the best soups I ever had in my entire life.”

Sa likod ng kamera ay mga Pinoy rin ang naka-trabaho ng Almost Paradise showrunner na si Dean Devlin  na tanyag na Hollywood producer ng mga pelikula tulad ng Independence Day, Godzilla at  The Patriot.

Kabilang dito ang mga Pilipinong direktor na sina Dan Villegas, Francis Dela Torre, Hannah Espia at Irene Villamor.

Samantala, marami palang Kapamilya actress na nag-audition para sa role ni detective Kai Mendoza na ginampanan ng model Filipina-Brueneian socialite, influencer and fashion designer na si Samantha Richelle na daughter ni Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei.

Pero sinabi ni ABS-CBN International Production and Co-Production Division Head Ruel Bayani na during the audition, binulungan agad siya ni ABS-CBN COO of Broadcast Cory Vidanes at sinabing si Samantha  ang ‘the one.’

Ang Almost Paradise ang first acting project niya pero ayon sa lahat ng mga nakatrabaho ni Samantha, hindi nila naramdaman na first time niya ‘yun. “I had the time of my life just being able to learn from the veteran actors and just the quality of the people’s talents. I was just very fortunate to work with them,”  sabi ni Ms. Samantha.

Ini-expect na magkakaroon ng follow up project si Samantha sa ABS-CBN after Almost Paradise pero siniguro ng production na may Season 2.

Lahat umano ng artistang nagkaroon ng papel sa Almost Paradise ay dumaan sa mabusising proseso ng audition, kabilang ang main Filipino cast na sina Nonie Buencamino, Art Acuña, Samantha Richelle, Ces Quesada, at Angeli Bayani, at mga guest star tulad nina ZsaZsa Padilla, Sophia Reola, Richard Yap, Raymond Bagatsing, Noel Trinidad, Lotlot de Leon, Ryan Eigenmann, Ketchup Eusebio at iba pa.

Samantala, ibinahagi rin ni Dean ang positibong pagtanggap dito ng mga manonood sa ibang bansa, lalo na sa mga Pilipino. “It captures the heart of why Filipinos are such wonderful and special people,” sabi pa niya.

Kauna-unahang American TV series na kinuhanan ng buo sa Pilipinas ang  Almost Paradise, na nagtatampok sa kaakit-akit na ganda ng Mactan, Cebu.  Bukod sa natural na ganda ng bansa, bida rin dito ang kapani-paniwalang mga set design ng mahahalagang lugar sa kwento tulad ng police station at yate na itinayo mismo ng production team ng Kapamilya network.
