Kahapon nga ay nag-file ng bill si Senate President Tito Sotto – SB 1967 – para sa renewal ng franchise ng network. “I noticed the TV stations have been replacing their news programs with animes. It means competition is absent and mediocrity is creeping in because of the absence of a strong competitor like ABS-CBN,” ayon kay tito Sen.
“ABS-CBN’s wide reach to Filipinos, alongside with the undeniable advantages of broadcast media relative to mass communication, definitely call for the immediate renewal of the network’s franchise,” dagdag pa nito sa abs-cbn.com.
Ayon pa sa Senate President, nakita rin niyang mataas pa rin ang rating ng mga programa nito kahit sa A2Z lang napapanood.
Ganito rin ang sinabi ni Sen. Joel Villanueva.
Si Sen. Grace Poe naman ay nag-tweet na “Given the crippling effects of the ABS-CBN shutdown and the need for more news outlets with the widest reach during the raging pandemic, the issue will be given utmost priority as soon as it is referred to the Committee on Public Service.”
Kahapon din ay nagsabi si House deputy speaker and Batangas 6th District Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto na magpa-file rin siya ng bill para sa franchise ng network.
Nauna na ngang sinabi ni Cong. Atienza sa interview na “Ako, I am just giving the new Speaker (Allan Lord Velasco) time to settle. Hindi naman natin puwedeng biglain, major battle, kauupo lamang niya. But I am not shying away from the responsibility and for the opportunity to come – that I’m working on – para maibalik natin ‘yung floor discussion. Hindi ‘yung special firing squad,” banggit niya before Christmas.
At ito ang isa sa binabantayan ngayong 2021.
Ahhh ngayong may mga ganitong development, magbalikan kaya ang ibang mga artista kabilang na si Maja Salvador na diumano’y nag-demand ng guaranteed contract kahit walang franchise ang network nang subukan itong pigilan ng network na tumanggap ng show sa ibang network?
