Piolo, Angel, Kathryn, sumama pa sa caravan, maraming artista officially jobless na ABS-CBN magiging content creator na lang muna

Tapos na ang botohan.

Hinatulan na nga ang franchise ng ABS-CBN.

Denied ang lumabas na resulta.

Kahapon, July 10, ang tinuturing na pinaka-malungkot na araw ng mga artista, fans, staff and employees ng Channel 2.

Hindi lang basta nalungkot, nagluluksa sila.

Masasabing officially jobless na nga ang maraming artista ng ABS-CBN.

Bago naganap ang paghahatol ay sumama pa sa caravan sa Congress sina Angel Locsin, Piolo Pascual and Kathryn Bernardo sa pag-asang mabaliktad sa ‘yes’ vote ng 84 na Kongresista pero sadly, 70 ang nag-yes, 11 ang no, 2 ang nag-inhibit and 1 ang nag-abstain.

Agad namang naglabas ng pahayag si ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak na siyang dumepensa sa mga naganap na hearing (13) na parang walang naging epekto sa mga congressman.

“Labis kaming nasasaktan sa desisyon ng Committee on Legislative Franchises na tanggihan ang franchise ng ABS-CBN. Naniniwala kaming nakapagbigay kami ng serbisyong makabuluhan at mahalaga sa mga Pilipino. Gayunpaman, nagpapasalamat kami sa Committee para sa pagkakataong maipahayag ang aming panig sa mga isyung laban sa amin.

“Nagpapasalamat ang ABS-CBN sa aming mga sponsors na nanindigan para mabigyan kami ng prangkisa, at sa mga mambabatas na nagsalita para sa amin sa mga pagdinig. Habangbuhay ka­ming nagpapasalamat sa inyo.

“Nagpapasalamat din kami sa lahat ng nagpahayag ng suporta at nag-alay ng dasal para sa amin. Hindi namin kakayanin ang lahat ng ito kung wala kayo.

“Mananatili kaming nakatuon sa serbisyo publiko at umaasang makakahanap ng ibang mga paraan para tuparin ang aming misyon. Kasama ang aming mga empleyado, karamay niyo kami sa inyong kalungkutan. Inaasahan namin ang araw na tayo ay magkakasama muli. Mga Kapamilya, maraming salamat na patuloy kayong nagtiwala, sumuporta, nagdasal, at lumaban kasama namin.

 “Kapit lang, muling magliliwanag ang kwento ng bawat Pilipino,” ang buong statement ni Mr. Katigbak.

Nagbigay din ng pahayag si ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez.

“Today is a sad day for the entire ABS-CBN family and for the millions of Filipinos who are hoping for our return on-air.

“This is not the outcome we have hoped for, but we remain grateful that we were able to participate in the process and clear the issues raised against ABS-CBN.

“We are very grateful for the unwavering support of all the sponsors who authored our bills and to all the lawmakers who believed we deserve a franchise.

“It was not an easy task, but we drew strength from God and our people, and we remain inspired by them to continue our mission to be in the service of the Filipino.

“Now, more than ever, we feel proud of our company. We are proud of everyone who have helped us serve the Filipinos through the years.

“And we are proud of the genuine love and support we continue to receive from our kababayans all over the world.

“We remain hopeful that better days are ahead for the network.   This painful development will only make us stronger and better.

“We will never give up on our mission. We will never give up on our nation.

“Mahal na mahal namin ang Pilipino. Mahal na mahal namin ang Kapamilya.”

Bumuhos din agad ng mga mensahe ng ABS-CBN stars na siguradong hindi na rin nila alam kung saan sila pupulutin.

Suwerte ang big stars na maraming naipon at nakapag-invest, pero paano na kaya ‘yung mga supporting lang sa mga TV show ng Channel 2?

Anyway, kasama sa matapang na nagpahayag pagkatapos ng pagbasura sa franchise renewal application ng network sina Kim Chiu, Angel, Liza Soberano, at marami pang iba.

“We voted for our lawmakers into power hoping that they will act for the greater good. But, what happened today?... what happened to the 13 hearings? ABS-CBN proved na walang violations ang nagawa. Why are we experiencing this? Why now?. Why not help each other for the better?,” unang tweet ni Kim.

Dagdag pa niya : “My (heart) for my fellow kapamilyas.

“To those 70 members of the Congress, we hoped that you decided based on conscience, not pride; based on Facts, not ego; based on truth, honesty, and service; not vengeance.

“To the 11 members of the congress, THANK YOU for being BRAVE. Thank you for giving us HOPE.

“Our ABS-CBN leaders did everything they can. Proved them wrong, showed everything, gave EVERYTHING to protect its people. Stayed calm amidst being bullied (sorry for my word). Did 13 hearings na paikot-ikot, ABS-CBN proved that we have NO violations. In the middle of this pandemic. Pagpapasara ng ABS-CBN and pagpapatupad ng terror bill ang nangyayari. What is happening to our country? Is this the change we voted for?!  #why,” ang matapang na statement ni Kim Chiu.

“Tapos na po ang botohan. Kami po ay tulala at hindi alam kung anong gagawin. Gusto ko lang pong magpasalamat sa ilang taong pagtanggap n’yo po sa amin sa inyong mga tahanan ,” sabi naman ni Angel na kasama nga sa nag-caravan sa Congress.

“To all the employees who are greatly affected by this. I’m sorry. I’m sorry they aren’t sorry,” tweet naman ni Liza Soberano.

Samantala, naglabas naman ng paliwanag si Cong. Alfred Vargas kung bakit nag-decide na mag-inhibit sa nasabing botohan bilang member ng Committee on Legislative Franchises.

“My heart goes out to ABS-CBN, its employees, and other workers whose livelihood depends on the network.

“But RA 6713 section (7a), on the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, and sections 28 and 81 of Rule IX of the House Rules on Committee Voting, as well as avoidance of conflict of interest, impel me to inhibit myself from casting my vote on the network’s application for franchise renewal.

“This representation as an actor/producer has been engaged for artistic projects with the network.

“Thus out of propriety and as dictated by law, I am duty bound to inhibit myself from voting on the application for the franchise of ABS-CBN.”

Anyway, lumabas na ang mga pangalan ng mga bumoto ng yes and no sa social media kahapon.

Wala pang sinasabing plano ang network, pero isang source na ang nagkuwento bago pa man lumabas ang resulta ng franchise renewal magkakaroon sila ng mass retrenchment.

Nauna na rin sinuspendi ang network / program contract ng Kapamilya stars at magiging content creator / provider muna raw sila at gagawa ng paraan para mapanood pa rin ang kanilang mga programa.
