Pagpapalabas ng sine tuwing biyernes, wala pang linaw!
SHOW-MY - Salve Asis (Pilipino Star Ngayon) - June 24, 2019 - 12:00am

Marami nang nakapirma sa umiikot na Open Letter to ABS-CBN and the House of Representatives

“We, actresses, actors, directors, writers, music composers, cinematographers, lighting directors, producers, staff and crew from the television and film industry, wish to express our deep concern regarding the freezing of the ABS-CBN franchise after its expiration date, on March 2020. We are hoping that this is just an issue of lack of time in tackling this before Congress adjourned last June 11, and thus, could still be re-filed in the 18th Congress,” umpisa ng sulat ng mga taga-industriya.

Dagdag nila : “Mass Media play a vital role in society, in the daily lives of the people. It is a source of information and knowledge; and of course, entertainment. In the Philippines, where many still do not have access to the web or have the budget to spend hours browsing in an internet shop, television and radio are their only means to connect with the rest of the nation and perhaps, the world, for free, with just a simple device called antenna. 26.7%* of our kababayan are surviving on P125 or less a day.

“In order to have some respite from their daily grind, our poor kababayan would gather around a sari-sari store with a TV set; or outside the door and windows of a house whose owner is generous enough to let them watch TV with their family. Be it news or a tele-serye that they watch, important lessons can always be learned.

“Losing one of just a few TV stations that we have will impact on the very reason why information and communication is vital to building of a great nation. It will deprive people of choices, of another source of FREE access to information, knowledge and entertainment,” ang ilang bahagi pa ng sulat.

“It is, therefore, our hope and prayer that ABS-CBN shall weather this storm that has befallen upon the organization without losing its integrity; and that our good congressmen/women in the House of Representatives shall consider the greater good while upholding the right of media/arts organizations to decide the path it should take as part of its constitutional right to freedom of speech, of expression and of the press,” sabi sa sulat nila.

“I’m a big girl now so I travel without a yaya, and I’m so happy that Daddy, Mommy, and I spent so much time together. I learned a lot during this trip and I think my next favorite city after Manila is now Paris!”
