Pia tanggap na dalawa ang tatay

Malaki ang pasasalamat ni Pia Wurtzbach sa tunay na ama dahil maraming mga bagay ang natutunan ng beauty queen mula rito. Namatay ang amang German ng dalaga noong 2013. “I have my biological father and my step dad. I love them both equally. With my biological father, he’s always taught me how to be punctual   money. That’s very important to him. And then also his love for food. ‘Yun ‘yung natutunan ko talaga sa kanya. He would spend hours in the kitchen just for a meal na mauubos naman within a few minutes. But I really appreciate that. Marami kang matututunan, ‘yung patience and creativity sa pagluluto,” pagbabahagi ni Pia.

Ang pagiging maunawain at pasensyoso naman ang hinangaan ng Miss Universe 2015 sa kanyang step father. “He’s been so patient with our family, given also na medyo financially struggling kami at the beginning but he was so helpful. And also my step dad has seen it with his own eyes, how I was as a waitress in the UK before. Tapos ngayon ‘yung last na nagkita kami ‘yung unveiling ng wax figure ko sa Madamme Tussauds (Hong Kong). So he really cried kasi nakita niya how everything happened and I’m just happy that I make both of them proud in some way. Like my father was able to see me win first runner-up sa Binibining Pilipinas pero after no’n hindi na niya nakita. Pero at least, my step dad, he was able to see all of it. Equally naman meron akong na-share with both of them,” nakangi­ting kwento ng beauty queen-actress.

Bata pa lamang si Pia nang magkahiwalay ang ina at ama kaya matagal na panahon din na nakapiling ng dalaga ang step father. Nakuha raw ng Miss Universe 2015 ang hilig sa mga lumang kanta mula sa kanyang step dad. “Growing up with my step dad and my mom together, lagi silang kumakanta ng mga 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s na mga songs. Because ‘yon ‘yung kapanahunan nila. And rumaraket kami before, we would go to nursing homes and then sing to them for two hours para meron kaming spending money. So I learned a lot of songs from them. ‘Yon ‘yung hanggang ngayon nadadala ko pa rin because when I go to some events and they play old songs, meron akong pang-ice breaker sa mga tao. Kasi ang dami kong natutunan from them,” pagtatapos niya.    (Reports from JCC)
