‘Baby’ ni Direk Maryo, naghahahap ng magagandang script!

Siguradong nakangiti sa langit si Direk Maryo J. delos Reyes nang magkaroon ng press launching ng third edition ng kanyang ‘baby’ - ang ToFarm Film Festival.

Brainchild ang TFF ng socio-entrepreneur Dr. Mila O. How na nakatutok sa buhay ng mga magsasaka natin at si Direk Maryo ang nagsilbing festival director.

 “We were deeply saddened by the demise of Direk Maryo J. delos Reyes, our first TFF Director,” mensahe ni Dr. How nang magkaroon ng launching ng 3rd TFF days ago. 

“He gave so much of himself for TFF. When he suddenly left us, we found ourselves at a crossroad. Should we go on with the project or not??“But after a lot of thinking, I personally thought it’s best to carry on with what Direk Maryo started. The festival would be a continuation of his vision for the farmers and for our film industry. This is our tribute to him,” dagdag ni Dr. How.

Sa pamamaalam ni Direk Maryo, hiningi niya ang tulong ng tatlong beterano na sa industriya ng pelikula na magsisilbing festival advisers – sa pangunguna ni Ms. Bibeth Orteza with Direk Joey Romero and Direk Laurice Guillen as consultant. As of presstime, ini-appoint nang festival director si Ms. Bibeth.

 “It’s very overwhelming to get support from not one, but three well-respected people from the film and television industry. It motivates us further to come up with more meaningful films that, hopefully, will follow the success of our previous entries,” Dr. How enthused.

Nakakadalawang taon pa lang ang TFF, 2016 – 2017, pero marami nang pelikula nila ang nakatanggap ng iba’t ibang recognition sa maraming international film festival.

Ang ToFarm Film Festival 2018 will run from September 12 to 18 at magkakaroon ng awards night sa September 15. Heart lumelebel na sa mga batikang artist

Pahinga man sa showbiz si Heart Evangelista ngayon, kabi-kabila pa rin naman ang commitment niya base sa kanyang mga Instagram post.

Pero more on pagiging artist ang pinagkakaabalahan niya.

The other day lang ay dumalo siya sa Philippine Art Awards na isa umano sa importanteng arts competition sa bansa. “The Philippine Art Awards is one of the most important visual arts competitions in the country. Last night we celebrated all the female awardees and their exhibit,“Resonant Forms, Consonant Practice. Such an inspiring feat and just in time for International Women’s Month! ,” sabi niya sa kanyang IG post.

Sa isa naman niyang post ay nasa art exhibit siya kasama ang mga sikat na artist sa Pilipinas. “It’s official! Last night we held an intimate gathering at the Manila House Private Club to unveil the Art with a Big Heart exhibit. The pieces curated will be auctioned off on Saturday with the proceeds going towards the UA&P Phoenix Scholars.

“To have not one, but two of my works be included in this exhibit is already a great honor. But to be featured alongside some of our greatest artists? That in itself is a priceless experience,” sabi pa niya.

Ang mahal na nga siguro ng mga painting ni Heart ngayon dahil ka-level na niya ang mga sikat na visual artists.

Samantalang nung nagsisimula pa lang daw ang actress na magpinta, ipinamimigay niya lang ang kanyang mga gawa.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Heart na hindi muna siya tatanggap ng kahit anong TV project para mag-concentrate sa paggawa ng baby nila ni Sen. Chiz Escudero, painting exhibits, endorsements and advocacies.
