Magagaling na gitarista napili na ng Colt 45

MANILA, Philippines - Tatlo sa mga pinakamagagaling na gitarista ng bansa ang nanalo sa grand finals ng Colt 45’s Shred to Slam nationwide contest na ginanap sa Capone’s, Makati Avenue nung April 16.

Wagi bilang top shredder si Patrick Cruz, 22, ng Novaliches at nag-uwi siya ng P20,000. Magpe-perform din si Patrick sa Pulp Summer Slam 2011 on April 30.

First runner-up si Jan Clyde Polintan, 19, ng Cainta, Rizal, representing Greater Manila at second runner-up naman si Emman Saumillan, 35, ng Olongapo, representing Northern Luzon.

Finalists din sina Erwin Espares ng Cebu for the Visayas region at si Andre Alay ng Cagayan de Oro para naman sa Mindanao.

Judges ng kompetisyon sina Wally Gonzales ng Juan de la Cruz, Francis Reyes ng NU107, Manuel Legarda ng Wolfgang, Neil Gregorio, A&R ng Warner Music Philippines, at Joey Dizon ng Pulp Magazine.

Hosts ng event sina Caren Mangaran ng General Luna at Tutti Caringal ng Music Uplate Live.

Major sponsor ng musical event ang Airphil Express na sinakyan ng lahat ng mga finalists mula sa ibang region papuntang Manila. Ang iba pang sponsors ay Pulp Magazine, JB Music, Odyssey Record Bars, Manila Broadcasting.

Present din sa grand finals ang mga bandang Arcadia, Switch, Skychurch, Piledriver, Valley of Chrome, at Alex in Wonderland na nag-perform sa Colt 45 limited edition CD na Lords of Loud.
