Gilas Pilipinas papalag vs tall blacks

MANILA, Philippines — Target ng Gilas Pilipinas na makaresbak sa New Zealand sa paglarga ng third window ng 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers ngayong hapon sa Eventfinda Stadium sa Auckland.

Magtutuos ang Gilas Pilipinas at Tall Blacks sa alas-3:30 ng hapon (oras sa Maynila) kung saan optimistiko si head coach Nenad Vucinic sa laban ng Pinoy squad.

Alam ni Vucinic ang kapasidad ng Gilas Pilipinas at naniniwala itong kaya nitong pataubin ang host New Zealand maging ang India.

“We can beat New Zealand. We can beat India. We have to play very well though, to beat them, especially against New Zealand,” ani Vucinic.

Matatandaang natalo ang Gilas Pilipinas sa Tall Blacks noong Pebrero sa iskor na 63-88 sa labang ginanap sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Sa pagkakataong ito, isasabak ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas ang 11 players.

Nangunguna sa listahan sina Kiefer Ravena at Dwight Ramos kasama sina RJ Abarrientos, SJ Belangel, Rhenz Abando, Geo Chiu, Lebron Lopez, William Navarro, Kevin Quiambao, Carl Tamayo at Dave Ildefonso.

“We’ve got a young team here and it’s up to them to prove that they can play at that level and that they can play important games like these two qualifying games,” ani Vucinic.

Umaasa si Vucinic na makapagbibigay ng solidong laro ang Gilas Pilipinas.

“And it’s gonna be even weirder now because I’m the head coach for this window. So it’s difficult but in the end, once the game starts, we’re gonna try to beat them,” ani Vucinic.

Matapos ang laban kontra New Zealand, agad na babalik ang Gilas Pilipinas sa Maynila para naman harapin ang India sa Linggo sa Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.
