MANILA, Philippines — The national government is eyeing to use transportation hubs as COVID-19 vaccination sites, National Task Force against COVID-19 deputy chief implementer and testing czar Vince Dizon said on Friday.

Dizon revealed during the Go Negosyo forum that aside from workplaces, ports and stations could also be used as additional areas for vaccination.

“We are also looking at expanding vaccinations to workplaces which presidential adviser Joey Concepcion has already started with Go Negosyo and their partners and also in other high traffic areas such as transportation hubs,” Dizon said.

Dizon said the Department of Transportation would launch one at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange soon.

“We hope to launch also in other transportation hubs, ports, airports, bus stations, train stations so that we can protect our unvaccinated,” he said.

He added that the booster vaccinations in seven pharmacies in the National Capital Region would be expanded soon to further boost the government’s vaccination program.

At least 57 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, 60 million of whom received their first dose while six million got their booster shots, Dizon said.
