Comelec payag manumpa Sara Duterte bilang VP sa ika-19 ng Mayo, kahit June 30 pa uupo
MANILA, Philippines — Walang nakikitang problema ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa inauguration ng 2022 candidates bagyo pa man mag-Hunyo — ito'y kahit sa ika-30 ng Hunyo pa dapat pormal na mauupo sa posisyon ang mananalong presidente't bise presidente sa ilalim ng 1987 Constitution.
Ito ang sabi ni Comelec Commissioner George Garcia, Martes, matapos sabihin ni presumptive vice president at Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio na plano niyang mag-oath taking sa Huwebes (ika-19 ng Mayo) sa kanilang lungsod.

"Two former presidents before took their oath at 11:45 a.m., not exactly at 12 o’clock so meaning to say, pwede naman parang mas maaga," ani Garcia sa isang press brieding.
"Basta ang usapan lang 'yung mago-oath, number one, maga-assume at exactly 12 o'clock [on June 30] at number two, dapat 'yung content ng kanilang oath ay ‘yun ang nakalagay sa Constitution."
Paliwanag ni Duterte-Carpio, anak ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, nais niyang mauna sa panunumpa para makadalo sa inauguration ni presumptive president Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
Kung susuwayin ang tradisyunal na araw ng seremonya, manunumpa si Duterte-Carpio kahit na hindi pa tapos ang termino ni Bise Presidente Leni Robredo — bagay na sa June 30 pa matatapos.
Narito ang sinasabi ng Article VII, Section 4 of the 1987 Constitution patungkol diyan:
The President and the Vice-President shall be elected by direct vote of the people for a term of six years which shall begin at noon on the thirtieth day of June next following the day of the election and shall end at noon of the same date, six years thereafter.
"As to whether the oath should happen at exactly 12 o'clock, marami na tayong nangyaring nanalong presidente kahit si Barack Obama nga at si Donald Trump (ng Amerika) na parehas sa provision ng Constitution natin, nag-oath sila even several minutes before 12 o'clock," dagdag pa ni Garcia.
Matatandaang nakuha ni Duterte-Carpio ang pinakamataas na boto sa pagkabise matapos umani ng 31.56 milyon sa partial and unofficial tally ng Comelec.
