MANILA, Philippines — Tuloy na ang expansion phase o pagpapalawak pa ng face-to-face classes sa bansa sa susunod na buwan, sa kabila ng COVID-19 pandemic.

“Tuloy-tuloy tayo. In fact, we now call it the expanded face-to-face approach or stage,” ayon kay DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla.

Matatandaang Nobyembre 15, 2021 isinagawa ng DepEd ang pilot run ng limitadong face-to-face classes sa ilang paaralan sa bansa at nagtagal ito hanggang Disyembre 20, 2021.

Kabuuang 287 pampubliko at pribadong paaralan ang lumahok sa aktibidad pero limitado lamang sa Kindergarten hanggang Grade 3 at Senior High School students.

Ayon kay Education Secretary Leonor Briones, naging matagumpay ang pilot run at walang estudyante ang naitalang nagpositibo sa virus.

Inirekomenda rin ni Briones kay Pang. Duterte ang pagpapalawak pa ng face-to-face classes sa Pebrero, na sinuportahan naman ng pangulo.
